FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS, PART II

1. WHAT IS THE TURNAROUND TIME FOR RECEIVING MY PHOTOS?

First, you'll receive a gallery with your photo proofs. You can expect to receive this gallery within seven (7) business days from the date of your shoot (excluding holidays and weekends). You'll be able to access your proofs through a link to your online gallery, which you'll receive by e-mail. In the proofing, gallery you can view and select your favorite photos. The number of photos you may select for final editing will depend on which photo package you purchased, including any customization. Once you have selected your favorite photos, you'll receive another link to a new gallery containing your completed photos which have been fully edited. These photos will be high resolution .JPEG files that you will want to print out and proudly display in your home! You'll be able to download these glorious final edited images directly from the gallery to your device. You can expect to receive this link within one to two weeks from the date that you made your selections. If you need your photos faster than this timeline, you can have the delivery date expedited for an additional fee of $100. The earliest I can provide expedited photo delivery will be two (2) business days from the date of the shoot for proof, and five (5) days from the date of selecting your final photos, for final edited photos.

2. WILL YOU EDIT MY PHOTOS?

I get this question quite often from clients! Yes, just like any professional portrait photographer in Windermere, Florida, I definitely will edit your photos and make them look AMAZING! Let me explain my workflow in more detail. When I take your photos, I take them in RAW format. This is like a blank canvas and holds all of the metadata of the photo file. However, this RAW file is going to look very flat and dull. Don't worry! This is not the file that you're going to receive. I will import your photos into my editing software and first will perform general edits on the images. This usually includes color correction, brightening, sharpening, and skin color correction. Many times, the photos are shot darker intentionally to retain details in the highlights and then the shadows are brightened. I perform these edits using Capture One. My editing style is warm and down-to-Earth, and usually has a slightly orange glow to them. You'll know my photos when you see them! The first edit is where this unique "style" will be applied and makes up about 90% if the entire editing process. Finally, once I'm satisfied with the exposure and colors of the photo, I will export the file as a .JPEG and then import each .JPEG into Photoshop. I will usually need to apply some skin smoothing create a luminous skin tone effect. Next, I will need to remove any blemishes or stray hairs using a technique called frequency separation. This will allow me to pinpoint any and all blemishes or unsightly areas of the skin. If the portrait is close-up, this step will be necessary. If the portrait is from a distance, then I won't need to do too much detailed skin retouching. Other than removing blemishes, I will remove distractions from the background and fine-tune color and skin-tones. Sometimes, hair will need to be fixed if there are fly-aways and teeth may need to be whitened. I'm here to make sure you look your best!

3. DO YOU OFFER PRINTS?

Another common question is do I offer prints? The answer is yes! You can purchase prints directly from my store, which you can access through your gallery. Full disclaimer, there is no obligation to purchase prints from me and you are free to find another printing service. Once I give you your .JPEG files, they are yours to keep and do as you wish. However, I have to be honest, the prints from my store are excellent quality and so far are unmatched in my opinion. I've actually purchased some myself to gift to family members because they are that good! I hope that after delivering your photos, I'll have earned your business and that you'd want to purchase prints from me, although I understand if you decide to shop elsewhere. That said, I do offer an array of products, including prints on different types of paper as well as other media. I also offer additional products such as coffee mugs and photo albums. If you're looking for it, we've probably got it! You'll see a shopping cart symbol at the top of your gallery which will allow you to add each photo into the cart. At that point, you can select which products you would like to purchase.

4. WHAT IF THERE IS BAD WEATHER?

Bad weather can manifest itself in many ways, especially here in Windermere, FL. Florida weather is unpredictable. There are thunderstorms that can roll through unexpectedly. This is more pronounced in the summertime, but can happen any time of the year. Rain can generally be expected year-round. Also, the summer often brings high humidity and high temperatures which can make it extremely uncomfortable to be outdoors. Sometimes, the weather forecast will predict less than ideal weather for our shoot ahead of time. If this is the case, you do have several options. We can either meet up for our session and play it by ear. If we do need to end the session early, we can still reschedule for another day and I will give you an entirely new session at no extra charge. If it is just raining, we can still have our session. However, for safety reasons, if there is thunder and lightning, unfortunately we will not be able to shoot during that time. The decision is up to you. Sometimes rain can make a photoshoot more fun and creative! However, please keep in mind this may affect hair and makeup and ultimately affect the quality or mood of the photos.
